In 1981, Luchita Galindo decided to follow
her dream of opening her own business. After years of hard work and
perseverance, she and her son Jorge Galindo opened the
doors to a small Mexican restaurant on the Westside of
Cleveland; their restaurant is Luchita’s Mexican
Restaurant. With the same casual atmosphere of a dine,
Luchita and Jorge served up authentic, fresh, hot and delicious
food to as many customers as they could fit into their
small restaurant.
By the late 80’s Luchita’s had built a reputation
for itself. Then in the 90’s the Galindo’s realized
the demand for fresh, authentic, Mexican food. We could see
the publics’ taste changing; people could recognize
and appreciate authentic Mexican food. This is where we flourished.
From a 24 seat restaurant in Cleveland, Ohio to 5 Luchita’s
Mexican Restaurants, established in 1981, Luchita's Restaurant
Inc. now employs approximately 117 people, and serves over
24,000 customers each month. Stretching from Cleveland’s
Westside to Mentor in the East to Elyria
in the Far West and Parma in the South, Luchita’s continues
to grow from a small restaurant to a corporation in the Greater
Cleveland Area.
Marketed as a family restaurant, Luchita’s Mexican
Restaurant, Inc. features a wide selection of authentic regional
Mexican fare including a variety of Mexican salads, soup,
main dishes and “specials”, specifically designed
to introduce the diverse, festive and colorful flavors of
one to the world’s most exciting cuisines by Head Chef,
Reynaldo Galindo.
Each restaurant boasts a Cantina where Luchita’s
Signature Margaritas and Award Winning Dishes make every
visit a fiesta. With increasing demands for new and interesting
flavors, Luchita’s management under the direction of
Alex and Rey Galindo, continually searches for new authentic
menu items including the recently introduced “Costilla
de Res,” marinated seasoned shanks served with Black
Beans with Epazote; and “Tasajo Oaxaqueno” a
succulent dish from the beautiful state of Oaxaxca.
Although Luchita’s Restaurant, Inc. uses state of
the art accounting and operational techniques, the management
style remains very "hands on." Employees are treated
as family, and in turn, treat their customers like family.
In keeping with this friendly approach, the company routinely
establishes a strong presence in each community it joins
by supporting a variety of charitable efforts. A feeling
of fun and camaraderie is a staple at every Luchita’s
Restaurant.
